About Happy Children Home
HAPPY CHILDREN HOME TRUE STORY:
With two kind hearts, SHANKAR AND SUBADRA PARIYAR determined in 2011 to play an active part in the question of homeless / street children after giving a radio interview. Within a couple of days, they adopted initially 17 children and have been lovingly taking care of them without any governmental support or without any fixed aids from any source. Some of their own children went to work in the Middle East to earn money to support their parents, to give a chance to the adopted children to grow up in a caring environment as their own siblings and to patronize their nonprofit organization for sustainable development.
In the history of Nepal, a huge influence was the Nepali Civil War (1996-2006) and the devastating earthquake (April, 2015). It’s estimated that 15,000 people were killed in the war and 1, 50,000 were internally displaced, leaving government social programs in tatters. The earthquake devoured more than 8,000 people and injured more than 21,000 people.
PLIGHT OF CHILDREN:
Due to adverse effect of Nepali Civil War and Natural Calamities/aftermath, many homes were destroyed and a lot of people became homeless. Even hand to mouth existence was a difficult task for the most families, half of the population hardly manages to live on 1$ US per day. Most of people especially children deprived of food, shelter, education and warm affection and because of this untoward incident, many children begin to work at a very young age, often in very undesirable and miserable working conditions.
We were emerged as a nonprofit organization and we always take initiative for creating opportunities to help these orphans. Children who have lost their parents, children who have been abused by their parents and children whose parents can't provide for their living are desperately in need of financial and emotional support.

FUTURE OF THE CHILDREN AT HCH:
We were emerged as a nonprofit organization known as Happy Children Home and we always take initiative for creating opportunities to help these orphans. Children who have lost their parents, children who have been abused by their parents and children whose parents can't provide for their living are desperately in need of financial and emotional support.
HCH in 2016 has 18 of its children enrolled in a local English medium school in Grade Nursery through Grade 10 in a secure and loving environment. The approximate schooling cost per child through Grade 10 is $6000 per annum which includes tuition, uniforms, books and other necessary educational supplies for all 18 children.
There are currently 2 HCH children in college (Grades 11 and 12) and Current University fees per student average $1,500 per year. In the context of HCH, Gemeinsam Foundation is supporting HCH children for their education wholeheartedly.
Though we as an organization are placing our painstaking efforts for the welfare of the children, we are still struggling for funding sources for some new future programs for the children and for their long term benefits such as:
- CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS.
- TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD AND INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAMS
- THE PROJECT FOR LAND & BUILDING FOR THOSE INNOCENT AND NEEDY CHILDREN.
PURPOSES OF LAND & BUILDINGS: (HCH VILLAGE)
- OWN FOSTER HOME (PREFABRICATED HOUSE)
- EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION (KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY SCHOOL & SECONDARY SCHOOL)
The interested are cordially requested on humanitarian ground in order to help us enthusiastically in many ways so as to make the dreams of HCH children come true in near future by volunteering, donating and recommending genuine donors for the above mentioned programs for safeguarding the children and their bright future.
100% of all donations to Happy Children Home for Orphans will go to caring for orphans (no administrative costs will be deducted).
